Michael Roub has had a successful career in the healthcare industry. The business executive lives and works near the city of Los Angeles, California, where he is the Vice President of Business Development for Western Dental & Orthodontics. Michael has many years of experience in business operations, financial analysis, and investment, giving him the ability to deal with the complexities that characterize the modern medical industry. Education and Early Financial Career

Michael is a graduate of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, located in the city of Philadelphia. The Wharton School is considered to be one of the most prestigious business schools in the United States and has an alumni roster filled with world-renowned business leaders. Michael earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Wharton in 1994 and graduated Cum Laude in his class.

The next stop on his educational journey was the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, another leader in business education. Michael earned his MBA in finance and accounting there in 1998, graduating with honors as he did at the Wharton School.

Michael joined the team of Donaldson, Lufkin, & Jenrette as a financial analyst just after he completed his undergraduate degree. He engaged in analyzing industry trends and developing valuation models for merger transactions spanning over $1.1 billion in equity. After earning his MBA, Mr. Roub returned to DLJ, this time as an associate in the company’s leveraged finance division. In this role, he was instrumental in evaluating merger and acquisition and business restructuring opportunities for both individual and corporate clients.

Michael’s financial analysis background proved beneficial when he joined AllAdvantage.com, a digital advertising startup located in the San Francisco Bay Area. Here, he worked closely with the company’s principals, securing nearly $35 million in equity financing for the venture.

Healthcare Industry Work

With a solid background of experience in business finance and investing under his belt, Michael took his talents to the healthcare field. His first work in that field came in 2002, when he was selected as the Administrator for the Specialty Surgical Center in Los Angeles, California. He quickly gained prominence as a business leader and expert in the healthcare field as he handled the financial and operational demands of the multi-location medical practice. During his tenure there, the company expanded existing clinics and constructed several new facilities.

In 2008, Mr. Roub joined U.S. Healthworks, one of the country’s leading occupational healthcare providers. His role there was as the Vice President of Business Development. Michael spearheaded the company’s acquisitions efforts; his work led to the addition of 23 new clinical practices covering five states. Along with expanding the company’s footprint, he improved corporate revenue, setting new records for financial growth of the firm.

Western Dental

After leaving U.S. Healthworks in 2010, Michael engaged in consulting with companies as a financial and corporate strategist. While this work was very rewarding, both personally and professionally, he missed the fast pace and complexities of the healthcare industry. In early 2017, Michael Roub began a new phase in his career when he took the position of Vice President of Business Development for Western Dental & Orthodontics, an industry-leading generalist dental corporation that operates over 200 facilities in California, Texas, Arizona, and Nevada. Western Dental works with over 4500 dental professionals and treats over two million patients annually. Michael was chosen for this role based on his expertise in corporate acquisition strategies.
