In April 2014, my life was forever changed when we learned that my wife had breast cancer. She was young, athletic, exceedingly healthy – it was a complete shock. With no family history, the diagnosis was even more shocking. We began a long battle to get my wife healthy and cancer-free. Thanks to the incredible treatment from her providers at Cedars-Sinai and the support of family and friends, we were able to regain our lives. Unfortunately, many other women and families are not so fortunate. That is why once she was free of the disease, I began to take an active volunteering and fundraising role with Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, an advocacy group of the American Cancer Society. My son also became actively involved and started an organization and fund-raising at his high school to further support Making Strides. We consider ourselves fortunate to have a healthy wife and mother. However, as long as breast cancer remains a threat, we will continue working to support breast cancer causes and Making Strides, in particular. To learn more, visit here.
